Editing and Critique Services:

Full descriptions of these services can be found on my Editorial and Critique Service page. All manuscripts should be printed double-spaced in 12 point font, with good margins to allow for annotation and on one side of the A4 paper only. Manuscripts should be paginated and a word-count added.

Includes detailed written report and FREE 5 page close-focus edit.

£50 base fee, then add £4.75 per 1,000 words

(So a 20,000 word submission, for example, would cost £50 + 20 x £4.75 = £145)

 

fictionfire Close-focus Edit:

Includes detailed written report and annotation of manuscript.

£50 base fee, then add £6.50 per 1,000 words

(So a 20,000 word submission, for example, would cost £50 + 20 x £6.50 = £180)

 

Kindling Interest Submission Review:

Review of covering letter, synopsis and 1st three chapters (max 10,000 words). Includes report and edit.

Rekindle Review:

Review and advice on up to 10,000 words of text along with plot-notes.

You can if you wish request a mixture of close-focus edit and general critique, specifying the word-count for each. For example, close-focus edit of the first 15,000 words and critique report for the rest. An initial close edit can flag up errors of expression or stylistic features which you can put right at this stage, without waiting for a full edit of the entire manuscript. Full edits are recommended, however, when you are close to submitting the MS to an agent or if you intend self-publishing.
